Jodi Gilberts

Jodi Gilberts

Treasurer

Hi, my name is Jodi Gilberts and I live in Renville County with my husband Justin. We have four children ranging the ages of 5 to 25 years old. I work as an Administrative Assistant for the City of Olivia. I have chosen to be part of the CBMF because I’ve always had a draw to help people who are going through a difficult time. Even though I have not been directly affected by suicide, I do love people who have been. However, after losing our daughter Lilia when she was still born I have wanted to be there for anyone who has lost a child, no matter what the circumstances. Also, being a mother of children of all ages makes me desire to get the word out about the struggles people have that are not always talked about. If we can change the direction of one person’s life by sharing Carter’s story that is exactly what we are all here for.

Stacey Lambrecht

Stacey Lambrecht

Secretary

Stacey is an educator who serves as the CBMF secretary. Don’t ask her about golf holes, rules or tees, but she can help with any spreadsheet, meeting notes or sign up questions you may have! She was Carter’s teacher and has been involved with the foundation since its inception. Her passion for children as well as keeping Carter’s legacy alive has led her to be involved in the foundation. She shares, “The mission of CBMF to provide support for children experiencing grief immediately after the loss of a loved one and in the years that follow is a real need in our community. My hope is that as the foundation grows, we can become a resource for families and children especially.”

CBMF’s mission is in alignment with my career in the mental health field. Often, support for families after a death, whether by suicide or otherwise, stops shortly after the public grieving activities such as memorial services and burials have ended. To be able to fill a gap in continuing to support children and families long after others have “moved on” as well as furthering education about the topic of grief, and suicide in particular, plays a significant role in improving the health and well-being of our families and community. It is an honor to serve the community in this capacity.

Board Member

My name is Steph Lerud and this is my first year on the Carter Bremseth Memorial Foundation Board. My family and I have gotten to know the Bremseths very well over the last 5 years, and I wanted to be a part of their mission to spread suicide awareness. I unfortunately did not know Carter well, but I did see how his life impacted so many in this community. I could not pass up the opportunity to be part of a platform to help educate adults and children about mental health, sextortion and the benefits of reaching out for help. I have a family history of depression and have dealt with suicide some in my life. I want to help spread the word of resources that are available and the importance of mental health especially in youth. I know that this foundation can make a difference and I am excited for the direction CBMF is headed! Feel free to reach out to me if you are in need of help.

I am Tyon Giernet, the creative spirit behind As Above Tattoos, a devoted father, and the newest advocate at the Carter Bremseth Memorial Foundation. My childhood has been painted with friendship, skateboarding, sports, and profound strokes of art.

At the age of 14, the shadow of depression crept into my life, following the tragic loss of two peers to suicide. This darkness grew, and at 16 I attempted to take my life. The years that followed were a tremendous battle with addiction and mental health challenges. Yet, it was in 2022, after staring death in the face, that I chose to seize the brush and repaint my life’s canvas.

Now, in 2024, I stand with the Carter Bremseth Memorial Foundation, not just as a member, but as a beacon of hope. I share my narrative with an open heart, offering my insights and unwavering support to those still searching for light amidst the darkness.
